The ADI Method

Five steps. One relationship at a time.

A simple, structured approach that gives every mentoring relationship direction — while leaving room for the person in front of us.

  1. 1

    Connect

Build trust first. Mentors earn the right to be heard by listening, showing up consistently and respecting each student's story.

  2. 2

    Understand

Explore what's really happening — on the field, in the classroom and beyond — without judgment or assumptions.

  3. 3

    Develop

Set meaningful personal goals and build practical skills: confidence, communication, resilience and self-advocacy.

  4. 4

    Support

Stay in the student's corner through the ups and downs, encouraging constructive conversations with coaches and family.

  5. 5

    Grow

Reflect on progress and carry the lessons of sport into school, relationships and life.

Mentors are guides, not therapists. When a student needs clinical support, we follow school protocols and refer to licensed professionals.
